NOCA Clubs
Students are offered enrichment opportunities that complement NOCA’s curriculum and mission.
Chess Club: 7-12th grade students can hone their chess strategy during this popular lunch club. Students also have the opportunity to compete in various tournaments around NW Ohio.
Junior Classical League (JCL): High School students explore cultural and historical enrichment through Latin based media, games, and activities. Students also have the opportunity to attend the JCL Convention and compete in creative writing, vocabulary, academic, leadership, and scholarship competitions.
National Honors Society (NHS): High School students have the opportunity to extend the mission and vision of classical education through membership in the National Honors Society (NHS). Four pillars that students must demonstrate in order to gain admission into this club are: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.
Student Council (STUCO): Student Council is comprised of students in grades K-12 who have a desire to serve their school community by holding elected, appointed or representative office. Students must adhere to the Student Code of Conduct and exhibit consistent scholarship, and a commitment to faithfully planning and executing activities that promote school spirit. Student Council is a fun and social way for students to exercise creative leadership.
Speech & Debate Team: Speech and Debate team offers students in grades 9-12 a forum to hone their public speaking, critical thinking skills, and practice of ethics as they explore different categories of rhetoric. Students compete against neighboring schools through competitions hosted through the Ohio Speech and Debate Association.
STEM Club: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math club provides an opportunity for students in grades 7-12 to compete in various math and science projects and challenges. The club is rooted in the pursuit of knowledge through inquiry, creativity, and application of STEM concepts.
Student Ambassador Program: Student Ambassadors are trained students in grades 7-12 who provide tours of the campus to visiting students and families. Ambassadors also serve as hosts to visitors who shadow the school, providing them an engaging glimpse into life as a NOCA Spartan.
