What is a Charter School?
ABOUT
What is a Charter School?
The core principle of all charter schools is that parents have the primary right, authority, and responsibility to direct the education of their children. The state has a concurrent obligation to protect families in making this decision, not by dictating what school a child must attend, but by providing options from which families may choose.
Northwest Ohio Classical Academy is one such option. We consider our work to rest upon a partnership between the family and the school. That partnership is guided by our mission, which is clear and direct:

“TO TRAIN THE MINDS AND IMPROVE THE HEARTS OF YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH A RIGOROUS, CONTENT-RICH CLASSICAL CURRICULUM IN THE LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCES, ONE THAT PRODUCES THOUGHTFUL LEADERS AND VIRTUOUS CITIZENS. ”
Northwest Ohio Classical Academy is a public charter school and does not discriminate. All students are welcome to apply, and if the number of applicants exceeds the number of available seats, a lottery will be conducted to fill enrollment availability by grade level.
Northwest Ohio Classical Academy wholeheartedly supports the primacy of the family and values the importance of parental choice. We welcome the opportunity to discuss your child’s future.
