We are seeking a responsible, flexible, and compassionate Substitute Teacher to oversee classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher. The ideal candidate will be able to manage classrooms effectively, follow lesson plans, and ensure a positive learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver lesson plans provided by the absent teacher or develop plans when necessary.
- Maintain classroom order and manage student behavior using appropriate strategies.
- Provide instruction that meets the learning needs of students.
- Monitor student progress and ensure student safety at all times.
- Follow school procedures, policies, and daily schedules.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, students, and parents (as necessary).
- Leave notes or reports for the regular teacher regarding the day’s activities and any student issues.
- Uphold professional and ethical standards in all interactions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred).
- Previous experience in classical education is preferred, but not required.
- Commitment to model moral character in line with the school’s core virtues and the pursuit of the Good, True, and Beautiful.
- Possess exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to and experience in engaging the interest and wonder of school-age children.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Demonstrates a commitment to continued personal and professional growth, and a commitment to model wonder, curiosity, and a passion for lifelong learning.
- Must clear a current background check through the BCI/FBI.
