Free Market Art.

Twice a year, the NOCA campus opens its doors to artists and neighbors alike. Free admission. Real art. A very good afternoon.

What it is

Free Market Art is a community art show open to NOCA students and the public. Work is submitted for display, and pieces are available for purchase or auction. Past events have drawn artists of every age — from kindergarteners to neighbors who have never visited the school before.

It is free to attend, free to submit, and open to everyone. We've had bounce houses. We'll probably have them again.

Get involved

Submit work. Come see it.

Bring your artwork, vote for your favourites, and take home a prize. Students, families and neighbours are all invited — up to three pieces per person.

Fill in the registration agreement before you come, or collect one at the table. Hand it to Mr. Humason or Mrs. Kania when you check in and you'll be given a number to display with your work.

How the night runs

4:00 – 5:30 PM: Check in at Door 1, pick up a number, and set up your work in Spartan Hall. Up to three pieces per person.
5:30 PM: Entries close and voting opens. Pick up your ballot at the ballot station.
6:30 PM: Voting closes and tallying begins.
After tallying: Winners are announced and prizes awarded. Take your work home at the end of the night.

Good to know

Everyone in attendance votes once for a student piece and once for an adult piece.
Student and adult work is displayed and judged in separate sections.
No work may be entered after 5:30 PM.
Entrants stay anonymous until the winners are revealed.
Bring your work home with you the same night, after the winners are announced.

Also that night: the Los Agaves taco truck in the east lot. Bring cash and buy your own tacos.
